Dear Neighbours,
I am running for the Ward 8 seat of the Town Council as a natural progression of my community involvement. I live in the middle of ward 8, just off of Scott Blvd, with my wife and three children. Being your neighbour, I experience whatever you experience. Our interests are aligned.
As a resident I successfully petitioned the Region of Halton to expedite the underpass construction on Derry. I also sit in the Milton Transit Advisory Committee and represent Milton in Halton’s Inter-Municipal Committee on Sustainability. As a councillor, if elected, I promise to be accessible, transparent and representative.
I am the only ward 8 candidate who:
- lives in Ward 8. It is important to run where you live
- regularly attends council meetings
- is an involved member of different committees
- works with town staff to solve local issues
- participates in public input sessions and workshops
I believe the town can really benefit from my experience. Milton can turn itself into a town people pay a premium to move to, rather than a city people live in because they cannot afford a home in other cities like Mississauga or Oakville. For that it needs proper urban planning, it needs to attract businesses and it needs smart policies that keep tax rates low and property values high.
